Overview

Do you work or volunteer in South Ribble and want to be a key part in creating a digitally confident community?

We are seeking existing volunteers based in libraries, community and voluntary organisations and employees of charities, private or public sectors to become South Ribble Digital Champions and support residents to improve their digital skills and benefit from using the internet safely.

By helping residents to gain vital digital skills you'll be helping individuals to improve their social connections, health and wellbeing and access to information and support services across the borough.

You don't need to be a tech whizz to become a Digital Champion - you just need patience, understanding and good communication skills to support a variety of people.

If you are comitted to helping digitally excluded individuals become more confident in using online services, we invite you to express your interest in our comprehensive Digital Champion training course, delivered by Lancashire Adult Learning. 

This training is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to support and guide people in overcoming digital barriers. Join us in making a meaningful impact in our borough by fostering digital inclusion and empowering our residents. 

Expression of Interest Eligability Criteria:

Over 18's who are:

  • Existing volunteers in South Ribble borough based community settings (e.g. libraries, community and voluntary organisations)
  • Employees of charities, private or public sector organisations working with South Ribble borough residents
  • Existing Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate for current voluntary/employee role and/or willing to authorise a Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
