Overview

As part of our statutory duties under the Licensing Act 2003 we must review our Statement of Licenaing Act 2003 Policy every 5 years, making any required changes in line with the act and statutory guidance issued by the government.

Our Statement of Licensing Policy sets out how we interpret the Act and the basis on which decisions are to be made.

The existing Policy came into force in 2020 and it will require revising during 2025.

Changes to the policy include

  • Exemptions Related to Regulated Entertainment (for licensed premises)
  • Drink Spiking Prevention and Tackling Sexual Harassment
  • Ask for Angela scheme
  • Promoting Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls,
  • Integration Strategies and Avoiding Duplication
  • Large Scale Events and Festivals
  • Event Safety Advisory Group (ESAG)
  • Alcohol Delivery Services

We are required to consult stakeholders and other bodies such as licence holders or their representatives on any proposed changes.
