Closed 26 Apr 2024

Opened 18 Mar 2024

Overview

The Council are producing a new Air Quality Strategy and Action Plan to cover the next five years (2024 – 2029).  In line with best practice, the draft Air Quality Strategy and Action Plan have been produced and are now open for public consultation before they are put before Council for formal adoption in July 2024.

This new Air Quality Action Plan is to be written to complement the work being undertaken to tackle the Climate and Biodiversity Emergency which is being driven by the Councils.  Details of all our work can be found at www.southribble.gov.uk/climatechange

Why your views matter

The aim of the strategy is to maintain and improve the air quality within the borough of South Ribble. To do this we need to work with partners, the general public, businesses and schools to raise awareness but more importantly tackle air pollution and poor air quality.

Please support this process by reviewing the draft Air Quality Strategy and Air Quality Action Plan and let us have your comments.  Together we can make South Ribble a nicer, safer, and healthier place to work, live and relax.

What happens next

We will review all the responses to this consultation and use them to inform any revisions to the Air Qulaity Strategy and Action Plan before it is formally put to Council for adoption.
